日常生活の中に双方向性アートを組み込み、人々の間につながりを生み出す。
今年の夏休みに大学院視察のためにスウェーデンを訪れた際、人々がモザイク画やビデオアートなどを目印に待ち合わせをし、アートを鑑賞しながら会話を楽しんでいる様子を見た。この時、作品と観客との間の双方向的な関係性はもちろん、都市空間の中で行われる人同士の交流によっても日々のストレスは昇華され、良質なエネルギーに変換される可能性に気がついた。
この経験をもとに、今年の10月から『Hand Shaking Project』という作品の制作を始めた。この進行中のプロジェクトでは、日常的に人々の間で行われる交流の中に、複数の観衆が同時に参加できる作品を挟み込み、作品だけではなく、観衆同士の繋がりも強めることを目的としている。第1弾では、観衆が握手した時に手の中に仕込まれたLEDライトが光って手の中の空間を埋めることで、握手した人同士の間に会話を作り出した。発表時、周りにいた人々からも会話が生まれ、その場の雰囲気がより友好的になったように感じた。この実験は小規模なものだったが、人の生活の中にアートを挿し込むことで、人々の間に暖かく良質な繋がりを作り出すことができることを確信した。

When one shakes hands, the conductive cloth attached to the other's fingertips touches the conductive cloth attached to the back of one's hand, and the LED in one's hand glows.
By filling the space inside the hand with light, a conversation was created between the people who shook hands.Conversations were also generated from the people around them, making the atmosphere of the place more friendly. This experience convinced me that by integrating art into people's lives, it is possible to create warm and quality connections between people.
