都市空間における見過ごされた存在や知られざる死を浮き彫りにする。
この作品は、ニューヨークの路上で死んだハトの死骸を定期的に観察し、変化する死体の形を白いチョークでアウトライン化することで、その場に静かに痕跡を残している。死体が消えた後も、その輪郭は都市の風景に残り、死の瞬間をさりげなく、しかし紛れもなく目に見えるものにし続ける。非侵襲的で詩的な方法で、都市で起こる匿名的で記録されない死と向き合う。
popo is the experimental project that highlights overlooked presences and unacknowledged deaths in urban spaces.
I regularly observe the carcasses of dead pigeons on the streets of New York City, outlining the changing shape of the body with white chalk to quietly leave a trace on the site. Even after the body has disappeared, the outline remains in the urban landscape, continuing to make the moment of death subtly but unmistakably visible. This work attempts to confront the anonymous and unrecorded deaths that occur in the city in a non-invasive and poetic manner.
